1.Have you asked ChatGPT "best [your trade] in [your town]" and seen your business named?
Fix: Ask it today. If you are not named, the rest of this list is why.
2.Does your Google Business Profile list every service you offer?
Fix: Add every service and product. Most profiles leave the services list half empty.
3.Has a customer left you a new Google review in the last 30 days?
Fix: Ask after every finished job, by text, with a direct review link.
4.Does each of your main services have its own page?
Fix: One service, one page. "Services" as a single page gives AI nothing specific to cite.
5.Does each key page answer a customer question in its first two sentences?
Fix: Open each page with a short, direct answer. That is the line AI engines quote.
6.Is your page text and FAQ visible in "view source", not loaded later by JavaScript?
Fix: Right-click, View Page Source, search for a sentence from your FAQ. If it is missing, many AI crawlers never see it.
7.Does your site have LocalBusiness and FAQPage schema?
Fix: Search the page source for "application/ld+json". No result means no schema.
8.Is your site verified in Bing Webmaster Tools?
Fix: ChatGPT search leans on Bing. Verify the site and turn on IndexNow.
9.Does your site load in under 3 seconds on a phone?
Fix: Test it at pagespeed.web.dev. Slow sites lose the visitor before the page appears.
10.Do you have videos of yourself answering the questions customers ask?
Fix: Record one answer per question. Your own voice is the one thing a competitor cannot copy.
Why do these ten questions matter?
AI engines name businesses they can verify and read. The first three questions are about what Google already knows about you. The next four are about whether your pages give an AI something specific to quote. The last three are about whether crawlers can reach and trust your site at all.
